  • operator input programming

Has anyone ever created a program used for a family of parts. I want to have the desired features sizes input by the operator, let the program run then automatically saved as a totally new program for this paticular part.

Im converting tutor programs to PCDMIS. I use 3.7mr3 and 4.1

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I want to make sure I understand your question...

Lets say you have 4 parts. They are just a square with a hole in the middle. Now, the hole in the middle is located at the same position but the holes are all different sizes. You want the operator to be able to input the hole size and then have the cmm measure up the part. Then, you want to save the program?

Is that about correct? And how many inputs (number of holes per part) are the operators going to have?

      Correct.

They will have 4 inputs and this will also be a looping program to check multiple parts. Scary to rely on them for info but I have hundreds to do.

About second part: converting Tutor to PCDMI
S, maybe you would discuss more...
My Tutor Files are so complex that conversion creates nonsence over all limits, I guess due to Procedures I'm using, so I'm interested how it works for you
