  • Homing Problems?

When I boot-up my machine (Global Status 777), my ctrl+w says:
    x 0.0743
    y -.0097
    z -7.6606

    shoudn't it say

    x 0
    y 0
    z 0
    ?

How do I reset the home position to the machines true 0,0,0 position at startup?

If you close Pcdmis, shut off the controller, turn it back on, it should re-home itself when you boot Pcdmis back up.

      ok,

i've done that....and thx for the response

However, the machine re-homes to those same coordinates...

THEN, I move the head all the way to the front of the machine (y), all the way to the left (x), and then all the way up (z)...and the counter reads:

      x -5.9226
      y -4.9228
      z -2.5230

maybe i'm missing something, but this just doesn't seem correct to me....

Contrary to popular belief, 'Home' is not actually always at the extreme end of the scale. There are little switches in there and when it 'homes' it moves until it triggers those switches. The value from the scale when the switch triggers is considered 'home' until the machine is homed again.
