  • equate alignment trouble

I have a part that is longer than the working area on my cmm... so I'm using some features near the center to align the part to, checking one end of the part, then moving the part, redoing the same alignment and equating the new alignment to the old alignment. That's how I understand it's supposed to work.

But after I do the equate, all my move commands are in the next county and I'm getting "Move commanded outside of travel limits" errors.

    Help?!?

    Thanks!

    tired or stupid?

ok... see I work 12-1/2 hours overnight shift... yesterday when I was sposed to be sleeping, a waterpipe broke... so didn't go to bed....

so...... when I did the second alignment, I rotated to xplus instead of yplus because my head didn't come to work with me today.... didn't rotate the part, just moved it along the x-axis...

anyways, fixed that little gem and it seems to be ok... gee go figure...
