  • programming a feature

    Hey everyone,

I have a job I am programming and I am a bit stuck on how to programme a certain feature on the part. I have attached photos and the feature in particular that I am struggling with is the R14.4-14.6.

My part is laying flat on the granite bed as my set up and the main probe I am using is a 2BY40mm.

Any advice on the best way of programming this?

    Thank you in advance,
    Mitch.

I would measure some edge points on each side, then create 2 lines and dimension the distance between them.

Is it the distance highlighted in yellow or the radius that is circled?

It is the radius that is circled, apologies for the confusion

Depending how the part it sitting i would either take a number of vector points on the feature and make a cylinder from the points (depending on the width of the part) or just run an autocircle on the rad changing the start and end angle appropriately.

Change the work plane to whichever axis the rad is lying in then do auto circle or cylinder changing the start and end angle so that the points are within the rad.

          Yep.
Or check out how to get the radius from polar points (plenty of posts on the subject)
