I have pcdmis pro 3.7 maintanece release 2 and was wondwering how to do something I have a round part that has a square hole with rounded corners in the middle of it and I need to make the square the center of my part also I got to take 50 hits in it

    Whaaaaa?
You are REQUIRED to take 50 hits in the square hole?
If you have to do that, then you will have to do a scan in it. No way to do that with an auto feature. If you do not have DCC Scanning, then you will have to take a BUTT load of edge points, make a feature set and go from there.

50 Hits... wow I would have done lines on all 4 sides and mid points to get the center

Well, IF you ahve a 'full' version of Pcdmis, you CAN do a SQUARE SLOT which will give you the center of the hole.

Do do lines, etc., you measure 2 (or more) edge points on each side of the square, intersect the lines at the corners, construct lines from the corner intersects, then construct a point at the intersection of those 2 lines. In this case, I would start by doing the square slot anyway, then use it for the alingment origin (with it set to remeasure), then go to the points/lines/etc.

It may look like this. Take note tho I did not use edge points and did not adjust the hits to be correct but you should be able to follow.

I want to know more about these 50 hits. Is that 50 total so 12.5 on each side? Or is it 50 for each side? Could you measure a line on each side then go back, F9 the feature, change the number of hits to 50, check "regenerate hits" and click ok. Then, you would have 50 hits evenly spaced between the two end points of the lines (50 is inclusive to the two end points). Then, you could use these hits in whatever manner you like... LIN1.HIT(1..50).X...

He says the part is round with a square slot in the middle (rounded too).
Perhaps is a "dish" and the 50 points need to be taken on the curved surface?
                    just wondering.

                      Line, Line, Mid x 2

with the mid lines intersect and create a point. Project this point to a plane if required.

Its a blooming hassle if you dot have CAD++
