    Help (please)!

I thought I'd post a link to the Datapage forum here to draw more attention and hopefully get assistance a lil' bit quicker...

    http://www.pcdmisforum.com/showthread.php?t=4179

I keep getting this error when trying to open a database. I'm hoping that the file has not been corrupted or something because I just sent data for 15 samples that took 8 hours to run to this specific database. I tried deleting the XSTATS.tmp file but that did not do anything for me.

      Thanks, that helped a lot.

      Did I mis-spell something?

No I have nothing to offer so I thought I'd rib on your "Wrong Dictionary File" error that Datapage is throwing out.

          Ah, now I get it...

I'm in deep ***** here. I gotta get another 15 samples (8 more hours worth of work) by the end of the day so I can get a green-button rookie setup to run parts tomorrow so I can begin my vacation next week....

If you don't get it figured out by the weekend write all of the pertinent data to a text file. That way you can still run and have the data to do what you need with. I gave up on Datapage ages ago and whenever I need to gather data I do it like that. You can send a date time stamp and delimit it before the data.

No sense in having your off time compromised.

That's an idea Craiger but on the next fifteen samples I have already corrected the problem by sending the data to a different database that is working. I had forgotten about the Database being corrupted or whatever prior to measuring the first 15 samples. I'm just trying to find a way to save or retrieve all of the data from the previous 15 samples so I do not have to re-run them if you get my drift.

Have you tried opening the database files with WORDPAD or something?

I have enver seen that error myself.

Did you get anykind of error when updateing the data base? Is it possible your data is still in the XSTATS11.TMP file?

You don't say if this has worked in the past & just recently started happening or if you just created a new database and it happens.
By the sounds of it, your "datapg6.dbd" file is not correct. Has someone played with it? Is it read/write locked? If you right click on that file, select Properties, the file size should be 3643 bytes in length. If not, then something is wrong. You could take another copy of this file from another database directory and copy it to this location. This file defines what the internal structure of the databas is and does not contain measured information.

I should also mention, if you open it with any program (such as Notepad/Wordpad) do NOT write it back out.

If there is any error during the update process, the XSTATS file is NOT deleted so the information could be transfered to the database once the error has been corrected.

No error when updating. I guess it's possible that it could still be in the XSTATS11.TMP file. Is there any way I can pull that data into a working database?

You should be able to, but you CAN open XSTATS11.TMP with word pad (or just check it's size). If it is empty or too small to hold all the data, then don't bother.

To import it, you do something from a working database, but I am not exaclty sure of the procedure, I think there is a command under FILE in the editor to update or something like that.
