  • creating a probe for the usrprobe.dat file

below is the code that was written to create a probe. it is meant to be 40mm long (30mm straight and a 10mm bend at the sphere end. ive put the usrprobe.dat file in the C:\Users\Public\Documents\Hexagon\PC-DMIS\2017 R1 folder but when i try to create the setup in the probe utilities box it doesnt show up.

is there something that i have missed?

Are you sure that's where your path is for your Probes? close the program and click Edit and check, set search path under Probe directory.

also maybe close PC-DMIS all together and restart it?

Do a search for probe.dat and put in the same location. It used to be in the PC-DMIS main directory.

      Mine is located at C:\Program Files\Hexagon\PC-DMIS 2016.0 64-bit

My computer was set to NOT show hidden files or folders. as soon as i set it to show them i could see the "C:\ProgramData\Hexagon\PC-DMIS\2017 R1" folder to put my usrprobe.dat file in.

      Thanks for the help.
