  • WARNING about DLL update

I had just today received a new interfac.dll file from Hexagon.
This DLL was supposed to fix some sort of vector issue.

    I have a Starrett CMM with a Renishaw/Starrett controller.

I had installed this updated DLL and started having issues.

I no longer had any kind of "prehit" distance at all.
This causes "unexpected hit" errors...basically crashing

I do not know if this update is Starrett specific, or for the whole PC-Demon community.

I thought I would pass this on so that others can be forewarned.

This is a Starrett interface issue only
There is a simple fix for this problem.
Change the ELMDRIVER>APPROACHSAMPLE from True to False in the settings editor.

In the email that came with the DLL, it said to turn this very same setting to "True" from false.

so, Alnwick97, who are you that we should listem to you?
you have only posted one time...and your profile says nothing about who you are......Hexagon employee???? maybe....we forum users don't know (at least I don't) update your profile so we will know

personally I don't like "updates" that are not proven.....this cost me time this morning when I had jobs backing up to be inspected...who pays for this? Oh yeah...my employer....who paid the SMA fees...oh yeah, my employer.....

my initial posting wasn't a question...it was a warning. I have already gone back to my "working" DLL and have been productive since then....
