I need to know how to make a move point programming offline with a catia model. It will not let me click off the part and I don't want clearplanes.... Please help a fellow beer drinker.....

        What T. Miller said.

If you prefer go to pull down menu INSERT/MOVE/MOVE POINT.

Just before I posted this thread I called a friend of mine and ask him this question on his voice mail.... I just received his call he told me to create 3 views to control my tip location (in 3D) and then when it positioned in all 3 views hit the ctrl+m button to make a move point . it works.. Craiger try it, it's pretty cool.

you can also use a move/increment.

I'm not understanding the (3) views method AuRules, can you please elaborate? When programming offline, you cannot move probe away from part and see it in space. The probe disapears after taking hit on part, correct? How would I add move points to navagate around the part when the part is in the aircraft coordinate system and the trihedrant is not perpindicular to any surfaces? I am wanting to add move points after creating an "iterative" alignment to get around part to create a manual alignment to bring part into the local coordinate system.

I use move increment a lot to clear the part or when measuring using auto features I use the distance move set to both or whatever fits the need.

Control + M does work in offline at least it does in 3.7MR3.

The way to see where the probe is, display two (or more) views in the CAD window. One view might be from the top and another from the front. Between the two of them, you can identify the location of the probe (relative to the part) in all 3 axes.

Create you views, make them solid, drag your tip in each view and hit ctrl+m.
I tried it and it works so thank all for your input.....and far as an iterate alignment it should work because you move x-y-z cordinates come from alignment no matter where it is.
