  • Inclination Gauge??

Does anyone know of or use an inclination gauge?
My problem is, perpendicularity of thread to weld face of a nut is out. The supplier claims the ONLY way to check this is with an inclination gauge. I disagree, and was hoping someone out there could enlighten me, on this sort of a gauge. Thanks in advance.

I agree with you. Best way to do this is by sticking in a thread gauge and measure from it to the weld face. That'll tell you the perp right away.

Inclinometers are fairly inaccurate and I do not believe that they are really made for this task.

I would use Jan's method. Probably on a comparator, My inclination is that someone is trying to pull the wool over your eyes......(sorry, couldn't resist)
When in doubt, post code. A second set of eyes might see something you missed.
