  • Offset point

    I would like to construct an offset point from existing point. The point is on round surface and I want to make another point that is 5.5 mm from existing point in nominal direction. I was trying with offset point function and vector distance point function but no success. There is no vector offset point function (select a point and write the offset and the point is created in the direction of nominal vector) in PC-DMIS. I do not want to write the I,J,K vectors to construct this point. Need some help to make a easy simple solution.

    I've not done a lot with those methods of construction, but the few times I tried them.... yuck

    So, I just fall back on the old GENERIC point

      Offsetting the alignment to the exact location you want and then creating a point would work as well.
