  • Calibrating problems

I use a MIP head with no extensions on any of my tips and everytime I calibrate a tip in the A0B0 position it measures at a different location of the sphere. Sometimes it is halfway up the shank that is hitting the sphere or the ruby ball is under the centerline of the sphere. This is no matter what size probe or length that I am using. Any suggestions?

More info please. What exactly are you doing? How do you answer the question about the sphere location? And, has the sphere been moved?

I agree with James......we need more information. I currently use a MIP on one of our machines and do not experience any of the problems that you mention.

Check your depth setting and your start and end and your orientation definition (ex. 0,0,1).

I remember something similar when we went to PC-DMIS and no one told us that our Mistral had that spacer/adapter before the PH9 in the probe layout....made a bit of difference.
