This subject has been brought up in the past. I've tried looking in the help file but couldn't really find a good explanation on what or how PCDMIS calculates standard deviation when calibrating a probe. Can any masters out there explain what exactly standard deviation is when calibrating probes? Any links that can help?

Well, the only thing I can tell you is that when I have measured the cal-sphere after calibrating the tips, that the STDEV is just about double the roundness value of the measurement, or the other way around, it is early yet this morning!sigpic
