Have not used this before. I have no proble picking the data. The vectors are right, the nominals are right, the height is right, all the data in the window checks out correctly. However, the picture shows the hits off the cone and 'down-inside'. Unfortunately, I am programming this off line, no part available (yet). Is this an issue with V3.7 MR3 (or ALL the versions)? The drawn circles for the ends of the cone match the data I picked (orange circles on the ends of the brown data, but the touches are absolutely wrong as shown on screen.

Try a negative number in your height, then adjust the depth to your liking
Also depends on whether you take a hit on cad at the bottom or top of the cone when adjusting these two.
Don't understand why the top leader lines are below cad, the only thing I know would change this is to physically
go in and change the -Z- depth instead of using the actual cad depth.
I hope this answers your question correctly, I'm using 4.1 and it worked on the part I'm working on now. Good LuckLast edited by VONDY; 02-26-2007, 09:28 AM.sigpic
B&S ADVANTAGE 12-22-10, EXCEL 9-15-9, ETC.
PCDMIS 4.1, 3.5mr2, -
The 'depth' is to the TOP (wide) portion of the cone, the nominals are the bottom of the cone. Changing the depth changes the location of the bottom (or small end) of the cone. With a depth of ZERO the hits SHOULD be touching the bottom (or small end) of the cone, not below it. I know I will have to adjust those to get the hits where I need them, but with those settings, the touches should be on the cone, at the ends of the cone, where it is drawing the circles, but they are not.sigpic

Matt,
Had some fun friday with auto cone. The height needs to be how far between levels where it probes not the total height (material thickness). The vector needs to be from small to large diameters. That's what worked for me.

Well, that's what I have. However, the point is, if I use a thickness equal to the height of the cone, and the nominals are the center of the small end of the cone, shouldn't the graphic show the hits at the ends of the cone and not shifted in one direction?
Once I get a part (sometime, who know) I know I will have to adjsut the 'depth' and the 'height' to get the hits on the actual surface of the cone.sigpic

Tried to use this before it was a nightmare matt, so what I did was created one use the jogbox and then fill in the boxes of the auto one. Don't know why I could left it like it was but the auto features look cleaner. And it taught me somethings also.sigpicComment
