    Elou Guys,

Have you got any experiences with using TESA heads?

I have got proposition to change Renishaw PH10M to some TESA HEAD.

Positive thing is that, that new one could be replaced every 5 degree from zero to 115 (A axis), but my doubts are, that Tesa doesn't have sou nice reputation as RENISHAW.

    IS it worth that?
Have PC-DMIS cooperate with this device correctly?

    Best Regards

How many programs do you have written?? Old angles wont work with new heads.

What is service like? How fast can you get an RBE.

Who provides technical support? I can get a guy at Renishaw on the phone in about 30 seconds.

As much as I think the Renishaw prices are high, you will get what you pay for. The Tesa head is part of the pizzing contest between Hexagon and Renishaw - the "I'll show you who is boss" routine. Do you want to be stuck when things dont go well.

All said, I have a job shop close by with a Tesa head on their ONE and it seems to work fine. You just need to weigh all the potentials.

Thank you for your answer cmm guy,

but besides that, we will have to change a little our programs, I'm still confused is it worth to change Renishaw to Tesa.

My doubt were connected especially with possible errors, any problem with working during rotation or uncorrect calculation during measurements.

but thanks a lot for you quick answer.

I did several cross checks TesaVSRenishaw ; I did not see any strange result up to now.

For me , having a Tesa is nice ,as I have also minus A angles.
