  • Scan Measured to Nominal

    Howdy everyone, I'm trying to get my scans to register the measured values and use them as nominals for future scans. But all the points don't seem to be changing. Any ideas?

    You are using MASTER. Doesn't it set the values it 1st measures and sets them as the nominal and compares everything back to the "master". So your measured and the nominal would be the same ? I would like a 2nd opinion for sure on this. I scan everything from CAD so I would never use MASTER, only FIND NOM. What are you trying to do ? Tell us a little more of your process.

      I'm not at the cmm, but I think you could use "relearn" mode.

        I am working on a reverse engineered part, that was started before I started working for my current employer. The first one was measured and rejected due to it not matching up to the original. A CAD model was made which I used to write the program, then measured the OEM. The problem is that the measured data from the OEM data is not overwriting the theos produced by the CAD even tho I have MASTER selected. And I cant figure out why.

          I tried the relearn mod but it wasn't working, at least not while I had the CAD model imported. Once i removed the CAD model it seems to be working.

            If you ARE using a CAD settings should be DEFINED and FINDNOMS . Make sure probe comp and CAD comp are on.

            If you ARE NOT using a CAD the settings should be RELEARN and MASTER. Make sure probe comp is on.

              Consider F5 - Find Nominals During Exercution. (with a properly set point target radius)
              Don't forget to turn it off after the program runs. As always, use this powerful feature on a copy of the program.
