    Looking for a way to get pc-dmis to take an operator entered part # & replace PART NAME : with entered data using variables.....
    Many thanks.....

    Can't be done, that is a 'set' variable in the Pcdmis code itself, if you are refering to the header info (pre V4).

        Easy enough with a script:

        Sub SetPartName()

        'Set up communication With PC-DMIS
        Dim pcdApp As Object
        Set pcdApp = CreateObject("PCDLRN.Application")

        Dim pcdPart As Object
        Set pcdPart = pcdApp.ActivePartProgram

        Dim pcdCmds As Object
        Set pcdCmds = pcdPart.Commands

        Dim pcdCmd As Object

        'Declarations
        Dim strValue As String
        strValue = "123456"

        pcdPart.PartName = strValue

        End Sub

        Only you will just need to pull the operator entered number into the script instead of a constant.

          Wouldn't be easier to just make a copy of the program? So each part number has its own .prg/database.

                  I don't know if I'll use it ant time soon, but it is always better to have than try to get later.
