  • Machine error: "position out of the machine stroke limit"

    Just got a new global performance with pc-dmis 2015.1 Setting up a dcc program and when I start the program and it goes to DCC I get an error The error reads:
    position out of the machine stroke limit on Z axis.. What am I doing wrong?

    Alignment? Did you level a plane in "Z" and origin it?

      No, I did not... But I just did... But it stops at the red arrow on the left of the screen... How do I get rid of the red arrow??? Thank You much in advance!!

          Sounds like it's trying to drive to a move point outside the working envelope of the machine. Are you sending it to some large Z+ or Z- location?

            99% of the time, the root cause is an alignment error.

              I'm guessing your new? you need to help the CMM know where the part is on the surface plate of the machine or the next thing it will give you an error in the "X" axis then the "Y". The machine has no idea where the part is on the table.

                      Im checking a 123 block with a star probe. Block is on standoffs. When I take points on the bottom of the block go get thickness using tip4 (X-), i get the out of limit error on Z but there is room to move the probe down to. I also use tips 3 and 5 to take hits on the bottom and they work fine, errors out on when asked to move below -1.0 with tip 4 only. If i move the probe down and hit skip the move, it probes the hits, moves over, and goes up as programmed. I re cal'd the tips and also reset the tips and still the same results. Doing 321 alignments for both man and dcc.

                              Change Z (before and after) to -1.08 and try. I suspect the move is low close to the granite?
