Is anyone using the STI interface for more than one part? I am having trouble when changing parts. When I select a new part, and Select the "Start" button, PC-DMIS becomes in the foreground and the Slide for the new part isn't visible. I have to cancel the program, Alt-Tab to PCDmis and minimize it. Then everything is fine. This also happens when I first start PC-Dmis from the windows menu. The first time I try to run a part, the PC-Dmis Screen is in the forground and the STI Slide is not visible until I cancel the program and minized PCDmis. Any Suggestions?

Is this the actual STI label of software or are you refering to homegrown automation software?

Are you starting PCDMIS first or are you letting STI start PCDMIS?

I am starting STI first. Besides, STI is already open when I change to a different part. STI runs PCDMIS, not the other way around.

Well sort'a. Unfortunately PCMIS has to be running. STI is just a launch platform for PCDMIS. Once PCDMIS is running, can you simply just minimize it and continue on with STI?

Not exactly, I first have to stop/Cancel the CMM program that STI has started.
Then I have to ALT-TAB to PCDMIS, I then minimize PCDMIS. At this point I can see the STI Slide for the program that I selected. I select the menu button to go back to the part menu, re-select the part and everything works fine.

Cant you minimize pcdmis before starting the program? Or does PCDMIS not start until you pick your first part program?

                Something doesnt sound right here.

Correct, PCDMIS does not start until I start my first part program from the STI.

So you can minimize it after the first program??

Also, there is a setting in the manager (where you can choose all of the different tolerance colors) that is a check box that says "run as full screen" or something along those lines - check that box. That should help with PCDMIS coming up on top.

Was already set at "run as full screen". I deselected it and saved the manager file as you must do each time you make any changes. Opened it back up, re-selected "run as full screen" and it worked correctly the first time. I will try it again tomorrow. Thanks,

The STI interface starts the first part program from the menu fine now. But!,
when I select a different part on the menu, the PCDMIS screen jumps to the foreground. ???? Then I have to Cancel the program, Alt-Tab and Minimize PCDMIS, return to the part menu in STI and select the part again. Runs ok then until I select a different part.

What version are you running? If you want I'll send you a front end to check out.

Never mind I see it is 4.1. Can't help you.

You should be able to edit the slides. There is a separate program for that. STI Editor.
