Do datums have a tolerance? If the primary datum has say .010 deviation along its surface, and my cmm picks up both the high and the low points of that surface. Is that an absolute datum? How does that figure in to dimensioning of the part. If the drawing asks for .010 profile of entire part does that include the datum?
