I have seen postings on both boards about the FULL REPORT not updating to the JUST RUN data, the actuals in the features will show what was just measured but the report does not. Well, I never could figure out why people were having this problem. I would check from time to time and not see this happening to me at all. Well, I think I have it figured out, possibly. I had to use an iterative alignment for a little part that just came in yesterday. I will have a fixture for it in a couple weeks, however, they needed some trim checked NOW. So, I set it up and did the iterative alignment on the part (yesterday) and checked a part. They made some trim line changes, then brought up a new part today. Well, I already had a program, no need to make a new one, so I ran the one I made yesterday. Pretty straight forward so far, eh? Well, an area that is RIGHT NEXT to a net surface that checked GREAT yesterday, showed 1.2mm off today. HUH? So I looked and the dimensions DID NOT UPDATE to the current actuals that it just measured. SO, since this is the first I have seen of this problem, I have to guess that it is tied into using the ITERATIVE alignment.

SO, of all of you that have had this 'update' problem on the report, how many of you were using an ITERATIVE alignment in the program? IS this the problem? Did I just find the bug that tech has not been able to figure out for oh these many months?

I use iterative alignments on just about every part I run , (CAD or not), and haven't had that problem but once in a blue moon, so I don't think it's tied to the type of alignment.

It is a small part. I moved it, re-ran the entire program, and once again, the report did not update to the new actuals. That's 2 for 2 here. BUT, to get the report to 'update', all I had to do was re-type inthe feature ID for the first dimension in report and they ALL updated.

Matt, I noticed this problem about a year back and after consulting B & S never did get a definitive reply. I did however bottom it out but the problem still occurs although now I know about it it doesnt bother me anymore. If I have a program and run it from start to finish everything works fine, features and report dimensions all update. If however I stop the program midway thru then use CTRL U to start it up from where I stopped it certain report dimensions (randomly) do not update. As you point out the actuals in the features are all spot on but the report dimensions do not reflect this. I even proved this to B & S by sending them a copy of a program and re-dimensioning the same feature immediately below the dimension that did not update but never got a response.

I think this is the same as you are describing above. Maybe someone can give it a go and see if they get the same problem.

I had that problem in the past, using iterative alignments. I never knew what caused it, but just chalked it up to something that I was doing wrong. It wasn't too bad until there's more than just a few features.

I've noticed this problem when I use break points (if I understand the problem).

Once in a blue moon when we run part studies, there will be a point that repeats perfectly. Looking at the code it has the feature name correct, but if you F9 on the dimension there isn't a point highlighted. When you pick the correct feature and hit OK, the problem is solved. This could be because they cut/pasted from another program...I don't know. Could never get it to repeat.
