    Hey all,

My cmm is down. Using 3.5MR1, I am trying to finish a (online) program I started 2 days ago. When I fire up the software, its looking for CMM (can't power it up, replacing a conduit that's been ordered and not here yet). Is there a way to override this, so that I can open the program and work on it offline?

Help, need to get this crap done, engineering bugging out...

Sorry, Dude. Unless you have an official offline seat of the software, you are outta luck. The "offline" of PC-DMIS does not work like you think. I is offline but still needs to be attached to a cmm. The offline seat you need to do what you want is extra.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news..

You're in luck. 3.5 and below will allow you to do this. Go to the folder that holds your dmis files (pcdmsw), look for a file called interfac.dll, rename it interfac1.dll and start up DMIS. I keep a copy of 3.5 on my machine for these types of things.

I'll say I think its 3.5 you can do that in? Now I can't remember.

          That's awesome...

I did not know that but I've never used anything but 3.5mr2 and greater (or worst depending on how you look at it)...
