    PDDMIS 4.1 CAD++

    Hi all, I am fairly new to iterative alignments, I have a part with datum -A- a plane datum -B- a stud and datum -C- a plane, is it possible to do and iterative alignment using these features??

    Try this. Use the iterative alignment to just locate the part on your CMM. Three points using the same or similar vector in one axis to level. Two points using the same or similar vector ( but different to the leveling vectors) to align (rotate) and one point with a completely different vector from the level and rotate vectors to origin the part. Test your alignment and see if it works.
    Once tested align your part in DCC using datum a to level, datum c to rotate and datum b. Then set your appropriate origins. That should work.
