    we currently run valisys/em power on our dcc machines!
    i've been tasked with finding different software for a replacement
    as unigraphics and valisys lic are expensive! is pc dmis user friendly
    and have execellent best fit functions. some software i'v looked at
    is either all or nothing. example i need to specify the degrees of
    freedom and fit with translation and rotation but assign specific
    limits on each of the 6! any feedback would be appr. thanks

    Your not asking for a whole lot are you....
    My advice is go to a demo then you can see hands on what it will do.

      And PC-DMIS is expensive too. I don't know how it compares to what you are using.

        Yes, everything you asked about can be done with PC-DMIS. One click funtionality for what you need. In PC-DMIS they call the specific limits "weights".

          PC-DMIS is expensive too, but you can use it for almost everything. From hand gauges to articulating arms, to NC machines to (almost forgot) CMM's. PC-DMIS is temperamental, but generally gets the job done. We all love to hate the Demons here, but there is nothing out there that compares.

            i've been reading the manual and i came across that!
            i have not come across where you could enter something
            like
            tx_str = "(-0.020,0.020)";
            ty_str = "(-0.030,0.030)";
            tz_str = "(-0.020,0.020)";
            rx_str = "(-4.18379,4.18379)";
            rz_str = "(-0.14994,0.14994)";
            ry_str = "(-4.18379,4.18379)";
