  • CAD removed? or not........

    Hi all,

Just a question, Some body send me a program to run on my machine, there was only On efile *.Prg and no Cad file. when I go to FIle->Open and clikc on file, I can see a Picture of CAD file !!! but when I open the Prog. no cad there :O ( May be the Ghost CAD )

I beleive he forgot to send me the CAD and this Prog is made originally on a CAD, What do you think?

Is there another ways to check, if really there has been a CAD for this program?

    Any comment is rellay appreciated

Yes, what you are seeing is a pic ( ghost ) of the CAD it was made of. No you don't need the CAD file, but if you want it they need to send it to you.

Not really a ghost (in the machine), simply a very small picture file that is 'attached' to the PRG file for the little preview window in Pcdmis. Cad WAS there, but unless you also got the CAD file, it will not show up when you open the program. BUT, once the program is written (correctly) you no longer need the cad data.

If you are doing profiles of odd shaped features I do believe that you do need the CAD. Please correct me if I am wrong here.

You are right if you are at the begining of the Program, But in this Case Program is done, Suppose the Profie of odd shape is already done, so nominals are already taken from CAD. Now the Cad is detached or removed, So no big deal nominals are still there, If you want to just run the Program, it is O.K but if you want to EDIT pprogram , like add more points or replace them, it is nighmare
