  • PC-DMIS to Calypso

I have a program for a flat sheet metal part. We have a supplier in Italy that wants to run the same program on his Zeiss. Does anyone know if I export it in DMIS from my PC-DMIS, can the Calypso sofware read it? Or, is it easier just to tell him to start from scratch. Anyone have a better idea (other than telling him to switch software).

The Pure Dmis Function Export Works Well Only If You Write It With That Intention....tell Him To Start Over, Or Get Pc-dmis...lol

Well, if it isn't scans, you can do this:

      1) Mark all check features
      2) Show path lines
      3) Save the file
      4) Close the file
      5) Open the file
      6) Export DES

This will give him a file of the NOMINALS and IJK for each point. I do NOT know Calypso, but I would think he could import it. When you import that type of a file into Pcdmis, a single click for each point gives you the XYZIJK and you simply execute it.

Just blindly translating your whole file, will probably not work. Mat suggests a very clean way that I think has a very good chance to work.

I find that regular features translate clean. The stuff gets weird when you get deep into dimension and report issues.

Thanks lads! That makes the most sense. If it doesn't work, he'll have to start from scratch (or switch software).
