Good morning all, and thanks in advance for the help.

I am doing an iterative alignment, using 9 vector points for leveling, 2 surface points for rotation, and a vector point for origin.

Have set my point target radius at 0.15mm and fixture tol at 0.15mm.,
after the cmm in dcc does the alignment I get error saying point A3 is off by 0.18mm in the Y.

So i guess my question is what will happen if I continue on programming,
or should i open up my point target and fixture tol.??

Well, you should do a MANUAL iterative alignment first, with 'loose' tolerances followed by a DCC iterative alignment with tight tolerance. You can open up the RADIUS value a little higher (it is the 'side to side' amount of acceptabel error) and possibly tighten up the fixture tolerance (that is the 'up and down' or 'in and out' error, the approave vector error). You best bet would also be to MEASURE ALL ALWAYS on the DCC alignment, it will then actually measure all the points twice. If you still are getting the error after that, then your part is just plain wrong. You will have to find out what is an acceptable amount of error for your datum features.

      nothing will happen
its just letting you know you have a point abouve the .15 tol that you set
next part may say .19 then .33
so you get a choice do you want to measure the part if 6 out of the 9 points measured .50

all points below .15 will not show
DR Watson shut me down again !!!! Smoke break:eek:
