Need help measuring a slot diameter...projection issue I think

I am measuring a sheet metal slot that is on a slight angle to the workplane/body axis. A stud is going thru this hole perpendicular to the workplane/body axis. How can I show the slots diameter as the stud would see it? Because of the angle, the diameter the stud sees is actually smaller then the diameter when measured normal to surface.

I would suggest you measure the slot as a slot, but for this issue, take edge points on the long side of the slot. Create a line establishing the stud vector, then dimension the distance between these points perpendicular to that.
