  • DISK PROBES

    Hi All

I am looking for a little feedback (HELP) on how to measure the spline I.D. datum B and the other feature, was thinking of using a disk probe for the B datum but I have never use one. Any help would be great. THANKS

    disk probe

If your going to use disk probe use it like a regular probe
here is how you would calibrate it.
To do a DCC calibration, the sphere must not have been moved from a previous calibration. Before calibrating the disk probe, calibrate any tip in A0B0. Then build the disk probe. Go to measure and select user defined. Put in 12 Hits at 2 Levels and a starting angle of approx,. 10 degrees and a ending angle of approx. -10 degrees. (the angel depends on your sphere diameter) Calibrate in DCC mode. When asked if tool has been moved, the respond is NO
The machine will now take 2 levels of Hits within approx. 20 degrees of the equator of the sphere
    Hope this works for you
