  • upgrading to 4.0 tomorrow

    We are upgrading to 4.0 tomorrow. Should i be afraid? Very afraid?

    I installed 4.0 and 20 minutess later uninstalled it. I have been using some form of 4.1 (Beta and release) since July or so. Read other posts about 4.0 before continuing.I would highly recommend not installing 4.0, but, install 4.1.

      Don't do it!

      You should do a little more research on this site about that decision; I do not think you will find anyone recommending it - go right to 4.1. I stick to 3.7 MR3 for almost all our work, still just toying with 4.1 but not ready to jump to it. Lots of great advice here - I get much from it, thanks everyone. Time for a scotch now- you will be saying something like that tomorrow if you aren't convinced to avoid using 4.0.
      using V3.7MR3

        Go Directly to 4.1 do not pass go! 4.1 still has some issues. 3.7 mr3 is still your best bet for the moment. Hopefully there will be a maintenance release soon for 4.1 but we'll see.

          I saw a demo version of 4.2 last week and was told it's soon to be released. I was advised by my Hexagon rep not to go near 4.0 or 4.1

            We bought a new machine that came with v4.0, I pulled my hair out for about 3 months before I got smart and downloaded v4.1. Please pass up 4.0 and go to 4.1, then wait for 4.2 to be released, then let some of the guru's on here try it out before downloading it. V4.1 is stable with some quirks in it, but compared to v4.0 its a blessing. If you heed our advice and load 4.0, be ready to have fatal errors, one after another. Good Luck.

              Wait for 4.2!

              It's only weeks until that will come out. And it promises to be a major bug fix. Do NOT install 4.0. If you must, install 4.1. But if you can, wait until 4.2 is out.

                  Sounds like you do not have a choice. Have Tech support on speed dial
