  • lost actual hit values

anyone ever come up with the actual hit values get lost overnight in the program? I mean, I used a cad model, take a bunch of points from cad and verified their position on the steel. Along with doing scans without using the model. AND THEN THE next day, I open the program---- one of the axis values are out in space. Like @ 20" out of wack. All of the theo and targets are correct, but not the actual. In this case the 'z' values are shot.
    I'm using 4.1.

Well, does your machine have a POSITIVE HOME position or does it just home to where the machine is sitting when you turn it on? Older machines (older controllers, really) didn't move to a home position when you turned them on, they just set HOME to where the machine is at when you turn it on. If this is the case, that is why your numbers were way off in space, ALL actual values in Pcdmis tie back into the machine HOME position, so if your HOME position changes radically from where it was, so will your actual values in your program.

machine has a set home position in the upper left hand corner.
We shut down the air compressor for the weekend as normal. 99.9% of the time, programs come back normal when I reopen them to run. This is the second time it has happened. Last time, It was during the week and the compressor was not shut-down.

What are you doing for an alignment(s)?

Not that a DCC alignment would be the culprit anyways. Take a look at your settings under...EDIT>>PREFERENCES>>SETUP>> scroll down the menu and see if the check box is checked for "Find Nominals" and "Find Nominals during Execution". If it is checked for these items, uncheck them, try running again? Not guaranteed to fix, but a suggestion.
