    First, hello to all!
I have barely...um...no experience in PCDMIS as of yet!
I do however have more than enough experience in CMM use and methodologies.

At work we don’t have a manual just the CMM with PCDMIS v3.7, I am looking for possible PDF documents that I can read thru to prep myself for future use of the program. I find it easier to learn and perform when I have “book knowledge” to lean on.
Any help in finding documents that speak directly to the use of PCDMIS on CMM’s would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yea, for now I won’t have a lot of hands on time for self training, most of my learning will be book knowledge.

    Best Regards

Go to the Wilcox website and you can find quite a bit to download and read.

      What CMMGUY said.

Also, this is a very good place to get info. Ask questions. Someone here has done it or wants to. You will find the group that hangs here to be intelligent and entertaining, but slightly warped. If you like beer, whiskey, root beer or very strange humor, you'll fit right in! Welcome!
When in doubt, post code. A second set of eyes might see something you missed.

          Welcome Rick,
It's nice to see that someone actually adds stuff either to their sig, or user prfile, such that the people who respond to posts actaully know a little about the person asking the question. Great to have you aboard. As you will come to find out I am the greatest resource on this board and listen to no one else.

All right I'm talking out of my butt. No, I am not the greatest resource on this board, Matt Hodeman is.

All right now I am getting tipsy. Actually, every person on this board has a special area that they are the greatest resource depending on the question.

          Again, welcome to the forum!!!

              Welcome Rick,

I reckon I'll heave my Texas sized ego and opinion onto the dogpile you started. Don't worry if we seem a bit socially deprived now, the demon will show you the light. (Or at least the pcdlrn error). My first piece of advice for you is to make sure you are using the Ver 3.7MR3 and NOT just 3.7, 3.7MR1, or 3.7MR2 as these three all have lots of problems. If you don't know, you should learn right now, that not all versions of pc-dmis are created equal. You would be wise to view any new "major releases" with a lot of skepticism unless you are in a hurry to be bald. If you are not using 3.7MR3, you can download it from the Wilcox website as long as your SMA (software maitainence agreement) was current when it was released. There are instructions in the "code" section of the forum about how to best install a new version on your computer.
We may be wacko here, but most of the time you can pick quick and correct information out of the jumble of jokes, beer, and errata. Don't try that with the 800# ! The more information you can post initially the faster we can resume our important discussions of sports and celebrity gaffs. HTH

                  Welcome

Listen to Wes about 3.7mr3. It's the maintenance release of 3.7 that you want to use. Oh, and if you have Windows XP service pack 2 make sure you have the hotfix installed. Both of those will reduce the number of dreaded pcdlrn errors you see - notice I said "reduce" not eliminate.

Oh, one more thing, there are no stupid questions around here except "Should I upgrade to 4.0?"

Hey what about Banjos!?!?! You forgot to mention Banjos in the slightly warped remark. Not that I don't like beer and whiskey, I just like to add banjos to the beer/whiskey mix.

                          Thanks for the replies!

                          p.s.
I'm coming from a Calypso system (last 7 years, of which I am one of the best) is there any comparisons or notes to ponder?

Or should I just accept the inevitable and voluntarily place myself in psychiatric care?

Welcome Rick! It's been a long time since I've seen you post anywhere.

The people here are full of help. Craiger is the one for code help and Matt's knowledge of the software is vitrually endless. There are many more on here that know how and what to do get you through any problems you have.

Sorry Bill..... Banjos and guitars are also a big topic.

And Bill, if your banjo is slightly warped you have to large a temperature and humidity fluctuation.
