  • Down Low On The High Point

I've read previous posts on auto high point, and I've corresponded with the help desk, but I'm not finding any enlightenment. I also tried the tutorial in the help database (v 3.5 mr2). Why is it that when I INCREASE the size of the search box, fewer hits are taken?? Shouldn't there be more? I also get fewer hits if I DECREASE the increment and tolerance. Whaaa?

I want to make sure that I have the workplane thing understood, first. If you put half a cue ball on the granite, and Z+ is up, and you want to find the maximum Z point on it with auto high point, you should be setting your workplane to Z+, right?

    For the lowest point , Z- ,
    Max.X: Right handside (according to B&S axis) X+ ,
    Min.X: Left handside (according to B&S axis) X- ,
    ...
    ..

    According to my knowledge..

I was just using that as an example to illustrate the workplane issue. My actual part is more complicated than that. I'm just wondering if in that cue ball situation would the workplane be Z+ for the auto high point.?
