  • 4.1 Install

    Guys,
I downloaded 4.1 because everyone seems pretty satisfied with it. How would I install this upgrade from 3.7 mr2? Would I install 4.1, move the directories and then uninstall 3.7 mr2? That seemed like the most logical course. This is our first upgrade as our SMA was just renewed (fortunately corporate wide). I'll be back in tonight to complete the upgrade. I appreciate all of your wisdom!!

Thank you Mr. Miller! That answered ALL my questions! I'll get to work on it when I come back in tonight!

        FYI,
I have tried 4.2 and it will be a nice upgrade from 4.1. The enhancements to the report templates will be worth the change(adding "page 1 of 12" stuff along with the header/footer stuff everyone has asked for). Aside from that issue, the other addditions are/is also nice it seems very stable. I am not using it right due to the fact that there are a few issues that need to be worked out(don't ask, I'm not getting into it today).

          Hey James,
Where did you get V4.2? I can't find it.

I believe Mr. Mannes is one of those dark and mysterious "Beta Testers".

You know, one of those guys you've heard about, but have never really met one yourself.

              John,
Come to the dark side, it is much easier and you are more powerful once you accept the dark side.
Actually, I thought I had posted the link for 4.2 earlier today, but it must not have saved. So here it is...

One note on the 4.2 version...

Open your older version and save yourself a tip with a bogus name (Q03x40_42) or something like that. Right now 4.2 will eat your tip and not allow you to save backwards. WILCOX has already been notified of this issue.

The workarounds are starting to look more like rain dances and voodoo hexes lately. I wonder what they will be by the time 5.0 comes out. Are we going to have to use bear gal bladers and rhino horns by then?

Anymore it seems like I spend more time working around things then I actually spend working on things...

You know though all in all 4.1 is pretty darn good. Very few complaints. Keep in mind that 4.2 is not released, the onus is upon the person that downloads it to kep in mind this is not for the general pubic.
