    I've been trying to accurately define a hemispherical stylus in probe.DAT and have been having little success.
    I can't seem to show 1/2 a sphere
    I'm trying to add probe that can be found at:
    http://www.renishaw.com/client/produ...PRD.5915.shtml (Renishaw A-5003-5276).
    Anybody have any ideas ?

    Why don't you just make it a regular sphere?

      yeah, I realize I can make it a regular sphere and will if I have to.
      Thought there ought to be a way to accurately show the stylus.

          Renishaw has some partial sphere stylii (A-5000-3614 is a 18mm dia. spherical). In probe.dat find the discription of one of those, copy & paste, alter as needed.

              In order to show the styli as a half sphere it must be called cutsphere.

              cutsphere x y z i j k d t b

              “Where x,y,z, and d are the same as sphere,
              i,j,k is the vector perpendicular to the sphere
              top and bottom, and t, b define the location
              of the top and bottom as follows:
              Top = (x,y,x) + t * (i,j,k)
              Bottom = (x,y,x) - b * (iI,j,k)”

                That is good info!! Is there a list of all of these somewhere? I cant find them in the help files. Am I blind?

                    That could come in handy. I'll have to add that to my collection...
