What is the difference between vector points and surface points? Only thing I know of is you can take sample hits with a surface point.

Right! if you take a "surface point" without sample hits is identical to a "vector point".
Most of my programs are from cad (vector points) so I rarely use surface.
I would use Surface when no cad available (checking irregular forms) so the CMM can fin the vectors.Last edited by Roberto; 10-31-2015, 11:44 AM.sigpicIt's corona time!

SP can be the same thing as the VP. With VP you need to know the vectors or they can be retrieved from the CAD, with SP the vectors will come from the sample hits, which is ideal to use if you dont have the CAD.B&S One
