Could the PCDMIS users out there let me know what they feel the optimum system requirements are for running 3.7 MR 2? I am trying to get an upgrade, my PC is about 4 years old now, and the only upgrade I have managed to get so far is a new Graphics card. I import/use IGES CAD files, some are quite large. I read recently that someone got 2 gig of ram. Is this sufficient? Any assistance would help me in my quest for an upgrade. Thanks.

ram is so cheap now 2 gigs is not an unreasonable amount and would help with loading cad models. get a vid card with 256ddr on it and that should make cad models load very fast. an upper end Geforce should be fine. processor should be a 2.4mgz or higher, these are fairly cheap now and you should be able to get in the 3.0>mgz for cheap. if you want to get real fancy - get a couple SATA drives and raid them together for fast HDD access.

beware of the geforce graphics card, as of 4.0 pc-dmis does not "support" this card. It doesn't mean it won't work, but if there are problems they will not be very willing to help.

thats funny... in prior versions they had problems with ATI cards. so now are there problems with both? or do they just want us to buy really high end video cards.

It is only the Nvidia GeForce cards, other Nvidia cards are still supported, as far as I know.

That is the understanding I have also Matt. It is only the Geforce that they are not supporting. I do not have this card, so I do not know if it works or not. they are probably just narrowing down what they "support" so it is easier to trouble shoot problems? Or avoid responsibilty if there is a problem?
