  • Custom probe calibration

Dear all, please see the attached probe drg. How do I add this to my probe list so that I can calibrate it? It is a custom made probe.

    TIA.

Go into the PC-DMIS directory in your hard drive and open a file called probe. This list all probes for when you build a probe file. Scroll down & find the closest disk probe. That appears to be what you want. Copy & paste at bottom of page & then remame. Edit parameters to match what you have.

Cheers gents, I now understand the concept but how would I alter the text for this for my custom probe above? My probe is M2 BTW.

        ITEM:TIP18BY7.5MMDISK M2
        begintip
        ribcount 10
        color 142 142 142

Copy that portion of the file, paste into the file and change the name and diameter and thickness.

              So...

I dont need to change the cylinder, ribcount etc? I'm completely unfamiliar with this terminology.

Just these should be good. I misled you earlier. I said diameter and thickness. I should have said hotspot and diameter.
