  • Small arc method from Hexagon

    I found this interesting method, and I can't find an old thread to write the link... (see the pdf)

      Ditto.

      This was the only way I could get numbers that were not nonsensical on an ~230" diameter with less than 1" of surface.

                    I think so, but the best way to be sure is taking a cylinder / sphere, measure it correctly, align on it, then apply the method on a small arc and compare !

                      Just to make everyone aware. You can also find an explanation of this method, along with a program in the example routines - accessible via the discover tab of homepage in PC-Dmis 2020 R1 & later.

                          Hi vpt.se , I'm looking into this as I can see how it would be useful to the guys without internet access from the PC on which they have PC-Dmis installed but I'm not sure if it will be possible. As far as I know, homepage is embedded inside of PC-Dmis so there would be no way to view it without going through PC-Dmis itself. It may be possible to provide a link to the routines but I don't know which server we keep them on or whether it is protected in some way to prevent access from anything other than PC-Dmis.

                          I will post an update once I have definitive answers.

                          Hi vpt.se , unfortunately, the only way to access the routines is via homepage with an internet connection at the moment. Can you please use the "SUGGEST FEATURES" link at the top of the page and log it in the ideas centre (Hexagon employees aren't meant to log ideas - only customers - or I'd do it myself). That way, people can vote for this and if there's enough interest the developers will have to come up with a solution.
