  • Crash and PH10T dead?

We had a crash last night. The tie-in states "not hard at all".... hmmm.

Now I get this message whenever I try to rotate the PH10T.

Am I dead in the water?.... Hafta call lugnut metrology?

    Help?

Have to tried rotating it using the hand control? Sometimes a manual attempt will get it going again (but not always).

Been there done that.... several times.... the definition of insanity: keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.

I've had a minor crash before with the PH10T. I manually moved the head around to make sure nothing broke. I then restarted everything. Re-homing seemed to take care of it for me.
I used to be high on life but I built up a tolerance.

Must have been something in the air last night. Same here but I am up and running though. I was going to sugest a reboot but I see that isn't working. All I can offer is I deal with them too. Let's just hope your monkeys don't get together with my monkeys.

Thanks for making us feel a whole lot better.

I had that exact problem happen 1.5 years ago. My programmer made a ooooppssss and the cmm moved in -x and smacked the check fixture and the ph9 fell to the table. I was at the other end of the office and all I heard was "OH S$#*" and a loud bang,,,,clink,,,clink,,,clink. I knew that was not good. At least that part is inexpensive.

What I have done since the crash

It is almost 24 hours later:

I queried here, called B&S 800# (useless by the way), called the tech that calibrates/repairs our machines.

                          I think we broke it.

Ordered an RBE that should be here in a couple of hours ($4400).

If that works when I plug it in I will be happy.
If it doesn't work I think I'll go home.
