  • MiniTAB interface

Looking for an automatic solution for data collection from PCDMIS > SPC > Minitab...

Or even better PCDMIS > Minitab....

Anyone out there have achieved this?

    Minitab recommends:
    WinWedge
    WedgeLink

for SPC with interfaces with Minitab:
    GainSeeker
    InfinityQS

Can't help you with a solution...sorry...but if you do find one...be sure to post it!

I don't have DP...and I don't know if that would make things easier or not but moving data from an SPC database isn't fun.

version 4 has a Excel output wizard that may be helpful in creating the document for importing into mini-tab. hope this helps somewhat

Looks like Infinity QS is the way to go....it has PCDMIS auto data collection and it has a direct interface with Minitab.

I will post an update on my progress if anyone is interested.

/sigh, another new software I have to learn...

I use Minitab on almost a daily basis. I am not aware of any interface for PCDMIS. Did have a guy last year that said it would be a snap to figure out.

          I am still waiting......

            Yes, It is possible!

            1) output to text
            2) Microsoft database table
            3) MDB to minitab

The particulars are roughly available. I did it for about three years, about three years ago.

Yeah, that's roughly what I'm doing now (SPC option under Stats dumps everything into an MDB file). Sometimes matching the correct measurement results with other data in the file seems to be way more work than it should be.

We've all got the tools - PCDMIS, Excel, some sort of stats program - It would be nice if they all worked a little smoother together.

I hate to have to load v4 prematurely just to experiment with the Excel Wizard though.

-Start a new file for each part number to make the data collection/storage more human.
