I'm lost here, are you wanting to only qualify certain defined tips? You can create a named definition of tips in the probe utilities dialog. I am not sure I understand what is going on here.
First let me state that I don't use auto-calibrate but I have plincked with it. You need to calibrate the probe tips you want in the probe qual first(from your probe utilities window). Then make a parameter set within the probe utilities window choosing whichever probe(s) you want to auto-calibrate. Then in your program move your probe to safe distance away from the part and clear line of sight to the sphere. Now insert auto-calibrate, F9 the auto-calibrate command and choose the correct parameter set and any other settings you want. Move a safe distance up and away from the part because the probe is going to do a dipsy doo after its done calibrating. I just did it a minute ago and it worked fine.
Parameter set that is what it is called. I too have only messed with it. Yes that is where you name a set of defined tips that can be called at the auto callibrate. Thanks.
