Probe wont change

probe changer

I copied a probe file from one CMM to another, calibrated the probes and all but the CMM will not drop off ot pick up the new probe automatically. I copied the file with PC-DMIS off, started PC-DMIS, calibrated the probes then went to run the prg and it asked me to load it. When I finihsed the prg, it asked to unload it.

I've checked the options in the probe dialog box and they are the same on all probes. We have 4 other probes loaded on this machine. All work fine but the new one.

Sounds like you need to assign the probe to a slot in the changer. Go to :
Edit>Preferences>Probe Changer

look for the tabs at the top of the window > choose "slots"

now look for the slot number that is the problem and click the "+" symbol

make sure it says the probe you need, if not, left click to highlight, then right click which should open a "pulldown" style menu with all the possible choices. If your probe is not in that list, you will need to go to the loadprobe line and rebuild the probe you need there, then it should be in the list. Once you have it assigned to a slot the changer should do it's job just fine. HTH
