Offline?

Heres the problem I turned off the CMM machine for the day & I don't want to start it back up, machine start the thing & home it, but now I need to open PC DMIS 4.1 back up to get some info. I thought that there is a way to do this but I haven't found it. Please Help

Not in any version newer than V3.5, sorry. In V3.5 and older, you simply rename the INTERFAC.DLL file in the install directory and it will open up in BACKGROUND editor mode (offline).

There has been much discussion about this in previous posts.

If you wish to work "offline", you'll need to purchase an offline seat.

I personally do not agree with this.

It will never get changed back, THEY say it is because you have not purchased an offline seat of the software, but they DO advertise that you get the ability to use it offline in their adds. When THEY found out that some smart guy in USER LAND found a way to use it without the CMM being powered up and running, they changed (fixed) it right away! It was a 'goof' on their part that allowed it to be used that way to begin with.

Yep, you wanna work offline - even on the computer connected to the cmm- and you have to buy and offline seat.

Kinda blows if you ask me.

Since I have several versions installed and all working, I also made a copy of my V3.5 install and have called in V35OFFLINE and I can use it for when the CMM is either down (not very often) or when I want to work but don't have anything to check (also not very often).
