  • VER 3.7 Long distance

I have my boss in N.C. installing PC Dmis 3.7 & DATAPAGE on a machinr there for a sister-company.
I run 3.5 myself, and am not familiar with the 3.7 bugs, nor can I reproduce the error here, that he is getting there.
    The apparent dilemma:
Auto Circle Probe , goes to circle, moves into it about 0.5mm, then just sits there, in the center of the circle, machine is running, but probe does not move!

    ???
It will take programmed points , but does this on the circle.

Any ideas what that could be?
    TIA

Well, does he have FIND hole activated, but incorrectly? Or, does he have sample hits turned on, but a bad spacer? Is the hole that far off location?

      Sorry matt,
I had my view of this forum all screwed up, my first post did make it...
      well, what can I say,
He tried find hole on and off, the hole is in the correct location ( I wrote this program here in 3.5, then he took it, the part, and the fixture with him to N.C.)
This program ran before - several times with no glitches in 3.5

He has prehits and all that good stuff......
back to the drawing board, I wish I could reproduce this error he has here, but so far no lick

      Thanks for your input Matt.

Well, I hve noticed that sometimes the OLDER programs don't work so well in newer versions, that is one of the reasons I keep all the older versions as seperate installs on the computer and I do NOT migrate old programs to a newer version, I keep them running in the version they were written in.

            Ok, here's his latest report:
And Matt, I did copy your post and sent it via e-mail to him
he also expieriences a problem with "going in and out of programs" (his words), and when coming back to the online one, the alignment is OFF and the initial alignment has to be re-ran from the start _ fixture is clamped.

            This is his latest:

            Find Hole option : ON

Probe takes the 3 prehits , moves to center of hole, dives in 0.5mm sits in hole.........

Execution mode options ( floating menue while machime is running)
suggests NOTHING, onlt that machine is running.
I hit the STOP, then the continue.... the thing does the job.- It measures the hole.
            goes to the next hole
probe takes 3 prehits, moves to the center of hole...yada, yada, yada. same as above.
All holes have the same symtoms, what could the diognosis be?

Did you send these programs on a CD? IF so, he will NOT be able to save them if he is trying to run them from the disk, so any measurements taken will NOT 'stick'. Also, if he just copied the programs from the CD to the PC, he HAS to change the properties of the programs, they will be READ-ONLY from the CD and they will not save any of the measurements.
