  • Apogee Metrolog XG Export to DMIS

    Hi All,

We are one of the unlucky suckers that purchased a Starrett CMM sold to Sheffield and now Hexagon. Anyway, recently upgraded to PC-DMIS, much better than Apogee.

About 40 of our active parts are programmed in the old software and I was planning on exporting to DMIS and importing to at least have a starting point. Unfortunately, DMIS export was an $5k option that we didn't purchase with Apogee (and I thought Hexagon nickel and dimmed us)

Anybody have a running copy of Apogee Metrolog XG V3.002 + with the DMIS export option????? Would really use some help writing off some of these old programs before our dongle turns into a pumpkin.

    Thanks

    Dennis

Can you export as XYZIJK from the software? You can pull that in with Pcdmis and that will give you the points, you would still have to progam then in, but you would have the data at least. Looks like this:

    XYZIJK METRIC
    719.172000, 1751.804000, 22.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 1.000000, 8.000000
    719.176000, 1685.804000, 22.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 1.000000, 8.000000
    719.176000, 1716.806000, 12.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 1.000000, 10.000000

(the last number is the diameter of the circle, these were not points)

Unfortunately, without the purchase of the DMIS export, the export button is greyed out. There is also no options for save as except the native format. That is in binary so I can't even cut and paste from a test viewer.

      Talk about handcuffs!!!

      Thanks anyway...

I still have my old PC with Apogee....but 3 issues come to mind
        1) older version 1.xx
        2) had tried exporting before without success
        3) have dongle...but without a CMM attached it won't even let me in

Which one gets ridden today? MPH vs MPG..tough choice, both are FUN
