  • How do I add page numbers in V4.1 reports?

Is it possible to add page numbers to V4.1 reports? I was trying to find if I can add headers and footers, but I can not find how to do it. Does anybody know how to do this?

    Thanks, Jan.

you need to create a new label and add it to the template.

Yes, you can by using the page function from the reporting expression language. Here's how:
        1. Add a Text object wherever you want the page to appear in the Section in your report template.
        2. Right-click on the object to access the Properties dialog box.
        3. Then in the Text property, type the page() function like this:
          =page()
        4. Press TAB to accept your change in the property, then save your template.
        5. After refreshing the template in the Report window or re-executing the part program, the page number should appear as expected in the Report window.

Yep that's excatly what we did. I was mistaken on the label idea, it has been a few months since i did this and this works great. Jared you explained very well. I tried explaining it to a few people in e-mail and my explination was not as good as yours.
          thanks again Jared

Can the part number, date, and time be added to this also - Like a small header at the top of each page.
Also, can a start - end time be added similar to 3.5. We had featuters measure, features out of print, time. all at the end of the report.

                Works! Success! Thanks....

However, make sure that your RTP file is NOT Read-Only!!!!

That gave me a few minutes of confusion. I knew this one, but had forgotten about it.

                  Hi Vondy.

Yes, most of these things you can add by inserting the proper function from the Reporting Expression language into a Text property or a GridControlObject cell. I suggest taking a look at the FILE_HEADER.LBL label in the Label Template Editor for an example of these. That label should already contain most of the code for what you asked about.

I don't think Start Time and End Time are available as part of the Expression language. But you could put a Comment in you report at the beginning and one at the end showing the system time once they are executed and then send those comments to the report.
