  • Scanning Polygons

Help...! New to pcdmis and needing to scan or profile polygons.Past method was umess via vda files (360 hits per poly).Polygon dimensions need to be expressed graphically with min max and nominal dimensions shown.

Try using a linear closed scan. Depending on the size, you will have to adjust your hit spacing to reach the 360 hits. Dimension the profile of the scan and then put in dimsion info, then create an analysis view for the scan.

VDA is a very clean cad format. I would recommend it. You can do a scan without, but then I assume you want to compare to nominal data.

Actually I am looking for comparisom dimensions for mating parts ( male/female) polygons and comparing to nominal to out of tolerance dimensions. I would prefer to avoid the vda files but,They may be necessary to get this project rolling quickly.
