  • Programs missing Qual. Sphere

    Good mourning everyone,

Yes I spelled it correctly..If you're running the demon you are in some form of mourning.

I have a weird issue going on here and was hoping some of our "elite club" members might have idea of how to fix it. I have a s few programs that for some reason seem to have forgotten which qualification sphere to use. We have two in the drop down menu because one was created by the guy from Hexagon during re-cert. But anyways here's what happens.

I open a program, go into the probe calibration dialogue, select mark used, then when I go to calibrate it wants me to choose the tool. It only does it on a few programs and I can't seem to figure it out.

    Ideas anyone?

Funny how the obvious answers always seem to work.

      Thanks Matt!

So I see you have your location being listed as ****? Funny......I don't seem to recall seeing you in my lab.

Another way could be to create parameter set in calibration window, with the good sphere selected. It allows you to use different spheres...

Interesting....What would be the purpose of that type of setup?

You can use different spheres if you use a rotation table, or a camera (dull sphere, or calibration ring).
For the rotation table sphere, you can have the same sphere with 2 names, 1 for 3axis using, the other for 4 axis (with or without selecting "tool on a rotation table").
If you have two spheres with different vectors, you can calibrate a lot of tip config, you just have to calibrate one from the other.

Is there any other software? LOL. I've been using PC-Dmis for about 10 yrs now. We demo'd Nikon but ended up sticking w/ the demon.
