  • Auto Vector Point Dots

PcDmis v4.1. When taking an auto vector point on a solid model a small green dot, actually a sphere, appears at the location of the point. For some reason, after loading v4.1 on my new laptop, the dots have gotten very large. I wish to reduce their size. Remember doing this years ago but cannot remember where. Any thoughts?

It is in the settings editor (at least it was) under OPENGL setting, there is a radius value you can change.

        Mathew,

Thanks as well - I changed the value from 1mm to .5mm and it really cleans up the graphic display.

I have a related question. My auto vector points are blue, purple red etc. what does the color difference signify?

Those are probably tolerance band colors. There is a place, I think it is DIMENSION COLORS where you can edit those. I have mine set to show GREEN for anything in tolerance and RED for out of tolerance. EDIT ~ GRAPHICS DISPLY WINDOW ~ DIMENSION COLORS. You get a big ball of colors and a little pull0down above it where you can change BOTH the number of 'zones' in the tolerance band (same number if zones, no matter the tolerance) and the color of each zone.

              Two "t"s, please

Yeah, that one has actually been in there for quite some time, V3.2063 maybe? Can be handy, but can also be a royal pain in the rump. I like to keep it as simple as I can (not for me, but for 'them'), so GREEN = GO = GOOD and RED = STOP = BAD. Pretty easy for 'them' to understand. When a rocket is ready to blast off, all the lights are GREEN and any RED lights make them STOP and FIX a problem. I think it was either IN or OUT back in the DOS days of Pcdmis, and 'they' got used to it, so it was also easier to keep them on the same track instead of trying to train 'them' all over again.
